Last night I was thinking of some different ways of sharing large files at a LAN party. LAN's are unique in that bandwidth is around the speed of very fast harddisks (around 90-100MB/sec).

This poses a problem, as normal internet technology's which work just fine on much slower connections don't seem to scale in a LAN situation. As I discovered last night Bittorrent is one of those technologies.
