Ages ago there was a web-based starcraft game
I played it while I was at school, and it was awesome. I got up to being a Ghost with a C-13 rifle and could kill lots of stuff
But then I lost the URL and never found it again
Anyone know what im talking about?

As a note, it is recommended for most new players to play either gaul or roman (I recommend gaul personally but the game recommends roman).   If you've registered post your in game name here and taht way I know not to attack you if you're near me.
As an extra note, if you are crazy and decide to try teutons, its sometimes recommended to start a few days after the game begins as teutons are based around raiding and you can't raid anyone in the first couple of days of the server

Eventjam (00:00:0?)

All events occurring at a later time get calculated by an Event System. In case the server is overloaded or the connection between webserver and database is bad an eventjam can result of this.
As soon as more events are received per second as can be calculated per second, events (e.g."Construction finished" or "Troops arrived") will be put into a waiting loop.
The chronological order of troop movements stays the same, even in an eventjam, so troops that would normally arrive somewhere first would still arrive there first.
As player nothing can be done against an eventjam except waiting. Normally these problems get resolved after a few minutes automatically. At the moment 169 events await to get calculated.
There's no rush...

Sounds like they're running the Australian server on a C64.

This happens all the time on a lot of the servers, clearly everyone is trying to jump on at the start to get a headstart so the server is clogging, it'll clear in time.

Right now all the early buildings only take a few minutes to build, therefore lots of events across many players, starts, finshes, resources raids plus the new questing stuff will add a bit too.

It'll take some time i'd say Franger will raise it. You'll need an embassy to join.

Anyone have some suggestions on start and what to do, i'm building a granery right now and fleshing out the outer areas to increase resrouce generation.

Almost all buildings seem to require your main building to level 3 to get anything going such as a military force or market place

Best idea is to follow the quests to begin with. Also make sure you have a small army built by the time your few days of protection run out as it's pretty likely someone will attack you.

I'm running through the tutorials on server 1, and it took more than 24 hours before I could get a barracks.   Be patient.
I have almost 70 hours of protection left. I activated pretty close to 2pm.

My quest told me to build a lumber hut thing, which I did and it hasnt come back since =(

Click on the fat guy on the right. It might be different for different races.
You click him every time you do whats required for the quest.

I'm Gaul NW also as Cutty. Alliance will probably start in a couple days.

As I'll be away this weekend, I'll be kicking my account off either Friday afternoon or Sunday afternoon, I'll be in the NW either romans or teutons.

I wish I could jump in now, but I'd waste my beginners protection. I'll be watching all of you though in the mean time.

Yeah I wouldn't be expanding your granary or anything yet unless you absolutely have to, generally increasing your resoruce fields is the most important thing, and the (brand new) quest structure encourages this and rewards you with extra resources for doing so.  
I will look into make an alliance maybe at the end of the weekend, it'll cost me a few hundred of each resource to get   a lvl 3 embassy  up and going which is a large amount at this stage of the game, it also would mean all of you need to waste resources on a lvl 1 embassy to join so don't worry about it just yet.

Nice work web, just be careful you read the rules thoroughly with the programs you download, quite a lot are considered against the rules of travian and you will be banned if they discover you're using them (somehow).
Meanwhile, I totally noticed wilko right near me and it took a lot of willpower not to raid him with 1 unit as a laugh to freak him out.

Ok I'll hopefully get the embassy up today, if not tomorrow morning, please make sure you have a lvl 1 embassy to accept the invite by then guys.

I'll run up my embassy shortly, got a fairly hardcore raiding focus right now. Will have it on the 17th so no rush to upgrade it.

Embassy is up and alliance has been started, I've sent invitations to everyone I think, if I've missed you let me know.   You'll need to go to your embassy to accept the invitation to join the alliance.   I'll try to set up in the in game forums for it shortly.

Whats his name?   And how much is he attacking you with? Also, if you join the alliance you are less likely to get attacked cause people often dont want to attack people in alliances for fear of getting hit by someone bigger they are allied with.
