According to Twitter, Hurt Locker has one the oscar's (http://www.abc.net.au/news/events/oscars-2010/ )

Nothing like some good old fashion American propaganda to stir the hearts.

IT'S ALL A COMMIE CONSPIRACY! Laughed my ass off this weekend when I saw this old movie on TV:

Nar not yet gonna see it sometime. I just knew a war film honouring soliders would always trump an essentially anti-soldier film such as avatar.

That's not really what the film is about.

It does play up to the American heart strings. It's a good film, lots of undertone with overwhelming I heart America built in.

The characters in The Hurt Locker don't really have families nor a deep sense of longing to go home attached to them.

Can't rebut that without spoilers.

Movie was awesome, although if you checkout the comments on imdb, people who are actually over there say some of the footage is very incorrect and would never happen today.

The movie was good, not great in my opinion. Kinda overhyped.

Yes, but most things represented in movies rarely is. It doesn't have to be 'correct', it just needs to be NOT blatantly wrong!

That clip was good. I love the last comment: "I'm not convinced that the Sergeant is right about the war", and the general replies "Have you ever been to South East Asia?". Gold!
